Free Food? Good Vibes? I’m there! - Thee Werk Place

In this world of social media everything, it’s good to know that somebody has your back. I often tend to be this friend for businesses doing the right things for the right reasons until the stars align and we’re finally able to truly connect. Well, that how I found myself at Thee Werk Place’s Love You Lunch. For all the love that was given to them, they put together a free lunch to show how thankful they were for their supporters.

Free Food? Good Vibes? I’m There!

Upon arrival I was greeted by the founding couple, Jasmin and Ricardo Forts and was instructed to adorn myself with Baby’s Breath.

Festivities and a flower crown? YYEEEESSS!

After letting my inner earth child have way with the natural headdress, I was shown the goodie table where I got to take home 3 bags with amazing items.

Score!!!!

  1. A handmade crochet cowl, made in the A by MacyMaryJane (@mmjatl)

  2. A Lavender & Roses Coconut Milk Bath and Rose Roller from @thehappyoilstribe

  3. A fullsize Aunt Jackie's Knot on My Watch Instant Detangling Therapy Cream

Self care essentials in hand, we were showed straight to the food (which was vegan friendly and delicious). Don’t mind if I do! Our hosts introduced themselves, thanked us for attending, and Jasmin made herself open to my passionate line of questioning.

Why Thee Werk Place?

To solve a problem of overpaying for co-working/events and create a space for women to feel celebrated while they work.

As she went on to explain the story of Thee Werk Place and how it was a labor of love. We went on to mingle among ourselves and the sense of community and unity in the room was almost over bearing. To see women and men convene in a space and feel okay to be vulnerable enough to share stories and offer advice was amazing.

I met a Wine Educator (@rosensoirees), an Author and Emotional Heath Specialist (@latoyamariesmith), a Management Strategist (@doublermanagement), and the entrepreneurial duo behind Davis Candle Company (@daviscandleco) and Joy’s Green Kitchen (@joysgreenkitchen)!! These new connections brought me hope in my own journey as a hungry entrepreneur and I can only hope that through our conversations I was able to pour into them as well. Thank you Jasmin for hosting such an amazing event!
